Delaware may be small, but it sure is mighty when it comes to its incredible wedding venues. These are the 12 best Wilmington Delaware wedding venues for couples looking to get married in this area. After many years of being a Delaware wedding photographer, I’ve seen lots of different event spaces across the First State. From garden estates to more traditional spaces, there is truly something for every couple. If you’re looking for an elegant wedding venue in Wilmington Delaware, you’ve come to the right place! Below you’ll find an insider’s guide to some of the best wedding venues Northern Delaware has to offer.
Hotel DuPont is an elegant, gilded age style hotel in the heart of Wilmington. This sprawling hotel is the epitome of elegant architecture and luxury service. It’s perfect for weddings of any size. They have two ballrooms to pick from, both exuding an elevated aesthetic that are sure to impress. One of the best things about this Delaware wedding venue is you can have everything on site. Get ready in a hotel room in the morning, use the multiple spaces in the hotel for photos, get married, and then party the night away all in one place. You can even reserve a room block for your guests so they can stay for the whole party.
Their main ballroom, the Gold Ballroom, boasts stunning golden elements, high ceilings, and European chandeliers. It can comfortably seat 250 guests. The Du Barry Room can also be used for a more intimate reception, and can comfortably seat up to 180 guests. This room is typically the ceremony space and creates a beautiful atmosphere for your vows. As for cost, the minimum spend for Hotel DuPont is $42,000.

With all Hotel DuPont has to offer, it makes this an ideal Delaware wedding venue no matter the time of year. If you want help with making it the best day ever, Angelina and the entire Just In Time Events team are the perfect wedding planners for you! We’ve worked here several times together, and it truly is their home away from home.

If a woodland garden party is your wedding vibe, Winterthur Museum and Gardens is the Delaware wedding venue for you! This incredible estate set on over 1000 acres of beautiful woodland and maintained gardens is a nature lover’s dream come true. This Wilmington Delaware wedding venue creates an ethereal, storybook-esque wedding with all its charm and history. Your guests are given complimentary garden passes so they can walk the grounds ahead of the ceremony if they want.

You can pick from multiple places on the property for your ceremony, but the most popular is the Reflecting Pool and Sunken Gardens. Make a memorable entrance by coming down the grand garden staircase and get married surrounded by elegantly designed gardens. Then, this area can be flipped to host cocktail hour, so you and your loved ones can soak up the surroundings as you enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres. Head to this blog post to see a stunning fall Winterthur wedding.

With plenty of locations to get ready nearby, it’s easy to get ready before heading over to this Delaware wedding venue. What I love most about Winterthur weddings is the many options for your wedding photos. Every inch of the grounds is stunning, so it’s easy to get dreamy, romantic shots. My advice for couples interested in a Winterthur wedding is to have a first look and take advantage of this before the ceremony. Winterthur provides golf carts so it’s easy to go anywhere for your photos.
When it comes to price, Winterthur Museum weddings costs vary based on time of year, day of the week, catering, and more. You can find a sample of their catering packages here, which require a $26,000 to $32,000 minimum. As for rental cost, these are the current 2026 rental fees. The average Winterthur wedding costs between $36,000 to $43,000.

One of the first weddings I ever photographed was at Hagley Museum and Library, and it’s been one of my top Wilmington Delaware wedding venues ever since! This hidden gem in the heart of Wilmington is a former gunpowder works site by the DuPont family. This gorgeous estate and gardens creates the perfect backdrop for your wedding. They have multiple spaces to host your ceremony and reception, along with indoor and outdoor options.

My favorite ceremony spot is in front of the Eleutherian Mills Residence, the first DuPont home in America. This also provides a stunning backdrop no matter the time of year.
For your reception, you can choose to have it indoors at the Soda House, or have a tent set up for an outdoor reception. Both options are wonderful and really just depend on your guest count and preference.
If you’re concerned about getting around the expansive grounds for your wedding photos, I’m here to tell you it’s not an issue at all! Hagley Museum offers a shuttle add-on for every wedding so you, your wedding party, and family can be easily escorted. Before your wedding day, we will map out where you’d like to take photos on the property and the shuttle driver will take care of the rest. Some of my favorite Hagley Museum wedding photo spots are the Eleutherian Mills residence, the waterworks area, and outside of the Crowninshield Garden.

Located in the heart of Wilmington, this swanky, upscale hotel offers a unique space for your wedding reception. This is definitely the space for you if you’re looking for a smaller Wilmington Delaware wedding venue. The Quoin is ideal for smaller, intimate weddings. The exterior of the building is just as gorgeous as the interior and offers a variety of locations for your wedding photos. For couples looking for something different, this is the space for you!
Two things I love about The Quoin for a wedding are the amenities and the stylish design and decor. Since it’s a hotel, you can also stay the night before and after your wedding reception. If your guests want to book a room for the night, they also have that option! Every bit of the hotel was meticulously designed and feels so luxurious. It creates a lavish atmosphere and looks even more amazing in photographs.
There is nothing stuffy about a Greenville Country Club wedding! This Delaware wedding venue is truly magical and feels like a garden party with a castle. Your entire wedding can happen in the garden area, from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception in the adjacent tent. You’d never know you’re on a golf course at this venue, which is one of my favorite aspects about it.

One of the best parts about this venue is how you can have everything on site. Both partners have a getting ready space, so no need to shuttle between locations that morning. As a Delaware wedding photographer, I am always excited about venues that feature a garden! You can do all your portraits in the space behind the clubhouse and have the most stunning secret garden wedding photos ever!

Have you ever envisioned yourself getting married in an art museum? Thankfully, the Delaware Art Museum offers their space for wedding ceremonies and receptions to make that dream a reality! When booking with them for your wedding, you receive 5 hours of event space from 6-11pm. Most couples opt for their ceremony in the Sculpture Garden, which creates a serene and enchanting vision surrounded by nature. In the event of rain, you can also host your ceremony inside surrounded by artwork.
For any couple looking for a more modern Delaware wedding venue, this one checks all your boxes!
Located at the historic Tilton Mansion, a University and Whist Club wedding marries historic charm and elegance into one. The mansion itself is crafted of stone and gives a bit of a castle vibe. There’s also well maintained grounds surrounding the mansion, perfect for pre or post ceremony photos. Both partners can get ready on site in their provided getting ready spaces, so everything is all in one place.
One great plus to this Delaware wedding venue is it’s all inclusive. This link will take you to a full breakdown of what’s included in their rental. This makes it so easy to plan knowing that a huge portion of items and tasks are taken care of!
Brantwyn Estate is another elegant estate wedding option for marriers in Delaware. This breathtaking property is a former DuPont home full of rich history and grandieur. When having a Brantwyn Estate wedding, you have mutliple options for your ceremony and reception. Most couples opt for their ceremony in the sunken courtyard and the reception inside the mansion. You can also opt for a tented reception if you have a higher guest count.

Another plus to a Brantwyn Estate wedding is their on site bridal suite. You can easily get ready here before heading out onto the property to take photos. This also ensures less stress overall since you don’t have to travel between locations.

This classic and elegant Brantwyn estate wedding blog will give you an idea of the space during an inclement weather day. If you plan on having everything on site, this Jane Eyre inspired Brantwyn Estate wedding blog will show you how the day easily flows from start to finish. I’m a little biased, but these both show you how incredible the grounds are in the spring with fresh blooms and bright white and pink blossoms on the trees. However, Brantwyn Estate is gorgeous for a wedding day any time of the year!
For couples looking for a more traditional reception space, DuPont Country Club delivers! This stunning Delaware wedding venue gives a classic vibe without feeling too stuffy. Its reception ballroom is elegant and a true blank canvas for your wedding, making it easy to decorate to your preference. It’s located across the street from Brantwyn Estate – and they’re actually sister venues!
Since it’s located in the Brandywine Valley, this Delaware wedding venue offers scenic views and doesn’t feel like a typical country club. It’s also located down the road from Nemours Estate, which offers an elegant backdrop to take wedding portraits ahead of your ceremony. You can host your ceremony on site with their indoor and outdoor options.
The Queen is a live music venue located in downtown Wilmington. For couples who really want something unique, this Wilmington Delaware wedding venue offers an industrial chic vibe with vintage touches and looks nothing like your typical reception space. With two getting ready rooms, you and your partner can get ready on site and take advantage of the ease of being in one place for everything.
Perfectly situated in Wilmington, all your guests can enjoy convenient parking and lodging for your wedding day. There are 3 different spaces you can utilize for ceremony and reception. The most popular ceremony room is the Olympia, known for it’s high arched windows and sweeping view of downtown Wilmington.
Nestled in the beautiful Bellevue State Park, Bellevue Hall offers a garden estate aesthetic with an indoor and outdoor flow. The mansion is a former DuPont home (are you seeing a pattern?) but now hosts weddings and events. It belongs to the Delaware State Parks system, which has put great effort into restoring and preserving the space. It’s located right on Philadelphia Pike with ample parking, making it easy to get to for you and your guests.

Bellevue Hall has two of my favorite getting ready spaces of any wedding venue. Both partners get their own room upstairs in the mansion, each with plenty of space, character, and light. There’s no shortage of beautiful photo locations in and around the mansion as well.
They also feature a permanent clear tent on site for receptions. If you have a smaller guest count, your reception can take place inside one of the rooms in the mansion. No matter the time of year, this Delaware wedding venue really makes a statement. Check out this spring Bellevue Hall wedding blog post to see more from a full day!

One of my very first weddings was at Carriage House at Rockwood Park, and since then, it remains one of my favorite venues in Wilmington. This 19th-century estate boasts well manicured grounds with a rose garden, lots of trees, and overall a secret garden aesthetic for the most whimsical of couples. There’s even a greenhouse attached to the main building, perfect for any couple who loves plants!
You can opt to have your ceremony indoors or outdoors. Most couples go with outdoors to soak up the beautiful garden courtyard. Their indoor reception space is cozy with stone walls and wooden beams. For anyone looking for a garden estate wedding venue in Wilmington, Carriage House at Rockwood Park fits that vision!
After exploring these options, I hope one of these Wilmington Delaware wedding venues is the perfect fit for you! If you’re looking for a local photographer familiar with these spaces, you’ve come to the right place! Inquire with me for my availability and full wedding galleries.
