Chris and my husband were coworkers when he first got stationed at Dover Air Force Base. We quickly became friends with him, but with the military moving them around to different jobs, we lost touch for a bit. Fast forward to now, and they share the same job again, and it’s wonderful having their friendship restored. Now, Chris and Ceara’s wedding is this summer and we are SO excited for them! We will be sharing in their story and cannot wait to see them become Mr. + Mrs. Now, their Bonneville Salt Flats engagement session is a brain child from this, and I’m so thrilled about it.
Ceara told me about their trip to Utah and how she wants elopement style pictures in their favorite places. After all, Chris proposed to Ceara on Angel’s Landing in Zion, so naturally hiking and the outdoors is a crucial part to their relationship. She asks me about potential photographers out there, but she also threw in how we could maybe take this trip together. Um, can I get a heck yes?!
And so it is final. We made plans for the most epic road trip over two weeks, and my goodness it’s so good for the soul. Our explorations from Arizona to Utah are still giving me a euphoric high, even a month later. Chris boasts about Bonneville Salt Flats a lot, and it is a pretty unique place. Did you know this is where the fastest car set a new world record in 2018? It’s a stretch of flat, salty earth where car enthusiasts put their vehicles to the test.
Buuuut, it is also the BEST place for an engagement session. Ceara and Chris’s Bonneville Salt Flats engagement session is my favorite from this year so far. The outfits, the light, everything! If anyone else wants to take us out to Utah, I’m ready! I’ll also be blogging their other photographs from the beautiful red dirt hills in Utah, so keep an eye out for that!
