I’ll never tire of saying how much I love photographing fellow military couples. Madison and I dove into planning their session long before the summer began. We talked outfits, uniforms, light, the whole nine, and I loved it. One thing we were totally sold on was location. Their Cape Henlopen beach session is full of the prettiest golden light and the various unique spaces the state park has to offer.
Because Donnell wore his uniform, I knew it was only fitting to use the World War II watch towers in the park. I rarely venture that way in the park, but I saw the amazing opportunity and took it. There’s one that’s open for people to walk up and see the the breathtaking overlook of the area. Shooting down the stairwell is a bit of a challenge, but I bravely held my camera over the edge and got the perfect shot. It’s one of my favorites from their Cape Henlopen beach session, and a different take on my work. I strive to try something new in every session I do, so I’m very happy they were game for this little experiment.
Donnell + Madison are wonderful to work with. I enjoy their company and time flew by SO fast during their session. I’m blogging a ton of favorites from this session, so grab a seat and check them out!
