Alexandra and Spencer held their intimate microwedding at Guild House Philadelphia. The highly curated yet cozy boutique hotel was the perfect setting for their relaxed celebration.
Guild House Philadelphia is a beautiful boutique hotel. It only has twelve guest rooms and a public lounge, making the experience there very intimate. Each room is named for a historic member of the Guild (more on that below). Every space has a unique character.
If you choose to get married at the Guild House Hotel, you can hold your ceremony in a private suite or the Lounge. The Lounge can accommodate up to 25 guests seated. It’s ideal for a small ceremony or reception. As you’ll see, Alexandra and Spencer used The Alice suite and the Lounge for their wedding day.
Since this venue doesn’t provide catering, they allow outside vendors. They’re flexible on whom you choose to work with as long as they’re insured. You don’t need a lot of outside vendors for a wedding here, though. Everything is decorated to perfection. You could easily show up, have your ceremony and cocktails, and go out to dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Since Guild House Philadelphia is a boutique hotel, you can book the entire thing for your event. Fees depend on the day of week and time of year you choose to get married. Rental fees start at $500-$1,500. Package prices start at $4,500 per night. That gets you exclusive use of the entire hotel, including the lounge and guest rooms that sleep up to 28 people.
The chic yet cozy feeling at this hotel comes partly from the fact that it was first designed as a private residence in 1855. From the outside, it looks like a classic brick rowhome that you can find all over Philly. Its history is pretty incredible, though. This hotel once housed the New Century Guild, a nineteenth century group of women involved in the suffragist movement.
Guild House Philadelphia is a great spot for a small wedding or getting ready for a bigger event at another venue. It’s located just two blocks from South Broad Street. Since you’re more or less in Center City, there are endless restaurants, bars, galleries, and theaters nearby. If your guests stay with you at Guild House Hotel, they’ll never run out of things to do while they’re in town.
Guild House Hotel puts a modern twist on Philly charm. Each of the twelve guest rooms is decorated differently too. I can imagine taking getting ready photos and portraits in any of them. The cool wallpaper and gorgeous woodwork make amazing backdrops for the beginning of your wedding day. The hotel’s decorator went for some really bold patterns and colors while keeping the atmosphere elevated.
If you and your partner want to get ready together for your wedding at Guild House Philadelphia, you can rent The Alice. This 1010-square foot suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and kitchenette. You could comfortably have breakfast and spend the morning prepping together or with a wedding party.
Guild House Hotel’s Lounge is situated in the original club’s dining room. People staying at the hotel still use it as a communal space. Murals, plush vintage couches, and decorative pottery fill the room. It’s an easy place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea. For an intimate wedding ceremony and reception, you can book the Lounge for private use.
Alexandra and Spencer held their spring microwedding at Guild House Philadelphia. They reserved The Alice suite and the Lounge for the day’s events. All the events took place indoors, so we didn’t have to worry about fickle April weather. It ended up being a beautiful sunny day, though. The natural light in the rooms was really lovely.
For the first look, Alexandra and Spencer met in The Alice. Spencer’s reaction was so sweet! Alexandra had fun showing him her cool suit. I love this spin on a bridal suit! It was perfect for a deeply personal microwedding like this.
From there, Alexandra and Spencer met their guests in the lounge. They did a self-uniting ceremony with a marriage license signing. Guests took pictures on disposable cameras and toasted them with champagne. It was a perfectly intimate, relaxed day.
