One of my very favorite weddings from the 2018 season is Elise + Daniel’s romantic Soda House at Hagley Museum Wedding. After ten years together, Daniel proposed to Elise and they planned the most beautiful wedding full of love and life. Elise is inspired by none other than Joanna Gaines, and added plenty of lush greenery into every aspect of her day. There are so many sweet details in their wedding day that I can’t get over. Scroll down to see what I mean!
After taking this photo, I learned the meaning behind it. It’s in honor of Daniel + Val’s mom who passed away, a love note in her handwriting. They each have a matching tattoo of this and it’s so, so special.
Elise’s gift to Daniel, the audio drawing of “In the Arms of Sleep” by Smashing Pumpkins. If you haven’t heard this song before, you need to go listen to it!
And one of the neatest groom gifts I’ve ever seen! Each groomsmen is pictured as a character, which totally matches their socks! (keep scrolling to see!)
We left the hotel to head over to the Hagley Museum for their first look. While awaiting his bride, we took a few dapper groom portraits.
Such a sweet moment!
One of my favorite aspects of a Soda House at Hagley Museum wedding is using the shuttle to explore the grounds for portraits. Elise and Daniel opted to do all of the portraits before the ceremony, and we had the best light and time taking them!
And to add a little somethin’ somethin’, we brought fog!
Another personal favorite piece of the day, these gorgeous hoop bouquets! A Garden Party really knocked these out of the park!
Our last portrait stop was this stunning late century garden. We may have had to park on the side of the road, so we made it quick but it was oh so worth it.
And finally, time to get married!
Time to party!
This wedding isn’t complete without a perfectly elegant first dance, featuring the bride and groom walking down the double staircase to meet each other. Yes, really.
But perhaps the most special aspect of this whole evening is Daniel and Val’s touching tribute to their late mother. In lieu of a mother-son dance, Daniel and Val shared a dance in her honor. Believe me when I say there wasn’t a single dry eye at this wedding.
This wedding is so special in so many ways and I’ll forever be honored to have been such a big part of it. Elise and Daniel, you guys are amazing! Thank you for treating me with so much kindness and having me be a part of your wedding day!
