Like a lot of New Jersey couples, Jackie and Max have a favorite beach town – Long Branch. They spend as much of the summer as they can at their condo there. Getting married in Long Branch was a no brainer for them. Their Wave Resort wedding included colorful details and a sweet ceremony incorporating Jewish traditions.
A Wave Resort wedding has all the best parts of a beach wedding without actually having to set up a ceremony in the sand. The High Crest Terrace is the hotel’s outdoor event space. It has glass sides and overlooks a long stretch of beach. The ocean is so close, but you also get to be above the fray.
Regardless of weather, you’re going to be covered. The Wave Resort has indoor spaces where you can have your ceremony and reception.
The cost of a Wave Resort wedding starts around $18,900 for 100 guests. Depending on the space you want to use, the Wave Resort has capacity for up to 300 guests. The High Crest Terrace where Jackie and Max had their ceremony can hold closer to 230 guests.
The Wave Resort has so many conveniences for people who want to get married down the shore. For one, it’s right on the beach. You can get a few photos in the sand without having to schedule a major detour from the rest of your wedding day.
As a hotel, the Wave Resort also can accommodate a lot of your guests. The rooms are all furnished in a modern style. Some even have ocean views. If you want to get ready, get married, and stay the night all in one spot, this is a great place to do it.
Jackie and Max held their Wave Resort wedding in October. A lot of people are hesitant to get married down the shore in the fall. They worry it will be cold or rainy. Jackie and Max’s wedding proves that you can get amazing weather, even in the fall.
The vibes at this wedding were fun, funky, and colorful. We took advantage of the murals and colorful decor around the boardwalk for photos. I loved the path painted in light and dark blue waves. It felt so nostalgic.
Even though this was a fall wedding at the beach, Jackie and Max didn’t settle for neutral decor. They went big on color with their florals. The flowers brought so much life to the ceremony and reception. They had a big floral chuppah and reception arrangements full of pink, orange, red, and gold flowers.
The cake ended up being the beachiest part of the decor. The white and blue tiered cake featured fondant starfish and seashells. It felt really whimsical.
Jackie and Max’s Wave Resort wedding was such a pleasure to be a part of. Their timeline allowed us to do everything ahead of their ceremony. We got all of the formal portraits out of the way. That way they could enjoy their party!
For their ceremony, Jackie and Max incorporated Jewish traditions. They shared wine from the kiddush cup, circled each other, and had their parents put a tallit around their shoulders. Beforehand, Jackie and Max had a ketubah signing as well.
Leading up to their wedding, I asked Jackie and Max what they wanted to prioritize in their photos. They told me they valued candid photos of moments between them and their family members. I made sure to document some really sweet smiles and hugs throughout the night.
