For their intentional, joyful wedding, Emily and Kelly hosted their guests at Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn. This Delaware wedding venue turned out to be a relaxing spot for a beautiful celebration. Their wedding photos are full of sun, romance, and a lot of fun.
Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn is a beautiful beach wedding venue that gives you easy access to Bethany Beach. You pretty much just walk over a dune, and you’re on the shore. When you get married here, your ceremony takes place under a white arbor leading from the covered reception tent to the beach. You can make a quick getaway after your ceremony for a private moment on the beach or head down there for golden hour photos.
The inn itself is beautiful with a really charming exterior. Winding porches feature gingerbread details and adirondack chairs. Guests will love the well-curated breezy beach atmosphere. The interiors feature original woodwork and antiques. Even though your reception is outdoors, you’re covered (literally) with a tent to keep the party going no matter the weather.
Getting married at an inn or boutique hotel always comes with conveniences. In this case, the inn has about a dozen uniquely decorated rooms. You can rent the entire Guest House for getting ready, too. Costs for a wedding at Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn start around $16,500.
This wedding venue is located in Bethany Beach, Delaware. It’s about two and a half hours south of Philadelphia. In addition to the gorgeous beaches, the town boasts a big Boardwalk and lots of restaurants. Whether you’re local or looking for a fun destination to get married, Bethany Beach is definitely a great option.
If you’re thinking about getting married at Addy Sea, here are a few things you should consider:
Overall, Emily and Kelly found the venue’s staff to be really nice and accommodating. It’s a great spot for a laidback beachy wedding day.
Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn was a great venue for Emily and Kelly’s celebration. Their day was relaxed, fun, and rooted in affectionate moments. In other words, it felt like them.
When I asked Emily and Kelly what they loved most about each other, this is what they shared: Kelly loves how loyal Emily is. She makes people feel special with her thoughtfulness. For her part, Emily loves Kelly’s determination to always be true to her heart. You can tell that these two really prioritize what matters in their life together.
As you might imagine, this wedding at Addy Sea Historic Oceanfront Inn included a lot of thoughtful moments. Kelly and Emily had their first dances with their fathers at the same time. I loved photographing them all on the dance floor together. They danced right in the midst of their guests, too. It felt more intimate than having a dance floor off to the side of a big ballroom.
I don’t think Emily and Kelly could have asked for a better wedding day. Some puffy white clouds drifted through an otherwise blue sky. We were able to take portraits on the beach before and after the ceremony. As the sun got lower, the waves also reflected the beautiful deep blues and pinks in the sky. I love how you can see Kelly and Emily relaxing by the waves and soaking up that just married feeling.
To document Emily and Kelly’s wedding, I took a mix of gently posed portraits and candid photos. Emily and Kelly were especially excited for the candid photos. It’s easy to see why. You see so much of their tenderness for each other in those in between moments. Their friends’ and families’ unfiltered joy also lights up a lot of the dance floor photos. It really was a joy to photograph such a loving group of people celebrating Emily and Kelly.
