Oh my goodness, this is a good one! Marina, a fellow NJ photographer, has been following me for soooo long! When she got engaged to her longtime sweetheart, Vince, she reached out right away to have me photograph her big day. I knew her elegant Hotel DuPont wedding was going to be incredble, but my goodness, I didn’t realize just how amazing it would be!
Their day began in South Jersey, where Vince got ready at their home and Marina got ready at her mom’s home. Everything was full steam ahead as they eagerly awaited the moment they’d see each other at the chruch ceremony. Both had incredible wedding parties, so it was SO much fun hanging out with everyone!
Once everyone was ready, we all headed out to The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia in Philadelphia for their ceremony. The reactions from Vince and Marina make my heart sing to this very day!
Afterwards, we headed down to Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware. Marina and Vince rode in their getaway Rolls Royce, and we stopped out front of the hotel for some stunning photos with the car. Thankfully, the rain had just passed. I know everyone was feeling nervous about the weather, but it all worked out in the best way.
From the hotel, we made our way to Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar, which is my favorite portrait location for Hotel DuPont weddings. It’s located about a mile from the hotel and boasts stunning gothic architecture within manicured gardens. It feels like an elevated secret garden, and I’m in looove with the location. It’s perfect for couples looking for an alternate portrait location! And thankfully we still had incredibel fall color for mid-November.
With the timing of everything, we caught the most gorgeous sunset at Marian Coffin Gardens and I’ll forever be in love with their wedding day portraits. The color, the couple, the light, AH! Truly makes this photographer’s heart sing with joy!
When I think of this venue, I always envision an elegant Hotel duPont wedding. The golden ballroom looks like a gilded age dream come true! Marina said that’s exactly why they loved the space and knew it was the only place they would get married. They wanted the beauty, romance, and elegance and their entire day encompassed that. With the help of all their vendors, they accented the already incredible space and made it their own.
Once the reception began, the party really started! Everyone was in high spirits, and they even had some Mummers come hang out! It was truly a beautiful day for an amazing couple. I’m overjoyed to call Marina a dear friend now (and we live like 15 minutes apart, woo!!).
