When I met Sami for coffee, she told me she absolutely needed an in home newborn session in addition to her Fresh 48 at the hospital. I think you all know my answer to that! In home newborn sessions offer a fresh take on newborn photography. Instead of traditional, posed studio shots, you document your new life with a baby. From breastfeeding to snuggling, each moment is your new normal. These little moments do not last forever, which is why I think in home newborn sessions are so important. You look back on the very first days with your newborn, but it’s even better to have photographs to remember them.

We began their in home newborn session in Lucie’s pretty nursery. I love the little details they decorated the nursery with. I’ll never tire of nurseries because they’re always so personal to each family. That became the theme of the session! Lucie was a perfect angel the entire time, and she had no issue snuggling with mom. However, their cat wasn’t about to let this new, tiny human steal his thunder. Wherever we went, this pretty kitty followed. It sure made for some hilarious photographs! I’ve never seen a cat with this much personality, but I welcomed it.

Everything about this session made my heart sing. I’m so happy for this little family and look forward to capturing them as Lucie grows. Enjoy some favorites!
