Sometimes you’re lucky enough to find a wedding venue that makes you think, “This is it!” Lindsey and Erik had that experience at Perona Farms. Even though they live in Georgia now, they knew they wanted to have their April wedding back home in New Jersey. They’re an easygoing couple, and they wanted to create a wedding day where their families and friends could connect and celebrate. Their Perona Farms wedding ended up being the perfect combination of chic and fun.
A Perona Farms wedding has the advantage of being able to choose from multiple spaces for photos, the ceremony, and the reception. Outdoor options include a private lake, historic barn, and beautiful gardens. It’s amazing how the venue’s spaces range from rustic to industrial chic. Anyone can find a place for their aesthetic somewhere in this New Jersey wedding venue. Lindsey and Erik opted for a more industrial chic feel with The Refinery.
A Perona Farms wedding reception ranges between $12,000 and $20,000 for a 100-guest wedding. The exact price will depend partly on which venue you choose. Part of the cost includes catering. Perona Farms’ farm to table approach really appealed to Lindsey and Erik. The venue serves beautiful food that isn’t your run-of-the-mill catering.
Perona Farms is located in northern New Jersey in Andover. It’s about an hour and fifteen minutes from New York City and an hour further than that from Philadelphia. Whether you’re coming from a big city or local, there are plenty of places to stay in the area. The venue has getting ready suites, too, so you don’t have to run between locations on your wedding day.
As you can see from these photos, Lindsey and Erik have amazing taste. Their Princeton University engagement photos are the picture of joy and elegance. (Check them out in this blog post!) It didn’t surprise me when Lindsey told me that they wanted to downplay the “farm” aspect of their Perona Farms wedding. She said, “Even though we are getting married at Perona ‘Farms,’ I don’t want our photos to look like we are on a farm or too woods-y. I love the areas of our venue that are more industrial and chic.”
Despite the venue’s name, we didn’t have a hard time creating modern, chic photos here. The minimalist black and white color scheme creates fresh backdrops. Lindsey designed all the signage to compliment it perfectly. The architecture has clean lines, too. Between the tiled roof and vine-covered walls, the courtyard looks like it could be in California just as easily as Andover, New Jersey.
I mixed in some direct flash photography to get that modern feeling in Lindsey and Erik’s photos, too. They look so cool seated on the blue coach with Lindsey in her heart-shaped sunglasses. It was an editorial moment in a gallery that was very candid otherwise.
This Perona Farms wedding is a perfect example of how amazing a Thursday wedding can be. If you’re up in the air about having a weekend or weekday wedding, just take a look at this gallery. It’s proof that people will come and party.
I love that so many of these photos are candid because you can see how much this wedding was really about celebrating the most important connections in Lindsey and Erik’s lives. They even chose really meaningful songs for their first dance and the father-daughter dance. Erik’s first message to Lindsey was a Blink 182 lyric, so of course, they danced to a cover of “First Date.”
Laughter, happy tears, and enthusiastic dancing filled every moment of this Perona Farms wedding reception. After speeches that had everyone laughing, Lindsey and Erik’s guests hit the dance floor. They made the most of the spacious dance floor in The Refinery.
