I adore photographing fellow military couples. There’s a bond between fellow military couples that already exists even before you meet them. We each understand the intricate difficulties this lifestyle brings with it, but we all agree we wouldn’t have it any other way. Brenda and Josh are one of the cutest military couples I’ve ever met! I’m still so honored that they chose me to photograph their White Clay Creek engagement session.
I met Brenda when I sold her some home decor signs about dogs. Instant friendship, right? She casually mentioned my work and how she wanted to have an engagement session. Fast forward to this spring/winter (because really, what even was this spring season?) and we made it happen! Our first order of business was finding the perfect location. We looked over several locations that correlated with Brenda’s vision before we finally decided on White Clay Creek State Park. Brenda showed the location to Josh and they were sold! Can you believe this location is in Delaware?? I wish the whole state had hills!
Brenda and Josh’s energy is a photographer’s dream. They are open to your creativity and all the silly things you tell them to do to nail the perfect shot. Not to mention they are an adorable couple overall. I loved getting to know them and documenting their story as it begins. I’ll be cheering them on from Delaware when they get married this fall in Texas. I’m so glad they’re able to have a wedding surrounded by their loved ones, which can be a rarity in the military community.
Right as we were leaving White Clay Creek, we couldn’t help but stare at this gorgeous sunset over the rolling hills. Brenda and Josh said this looks just like Texas, so I knew we needed to stop and shoot. If a photograph can make you feel at home, then I’ve done my job.
