The Greenville Country Club is a Delaware wedding venue that combines gorgeous gardens with historic architecture. Its ambiance was just right for Amanda and Kyle’s fall wedding. They made their Greenville Country Club wedding unique by embracing a combination of romantic, fun, and colorful details.
If you ask me, the best thing about a Greenville Country Club wedding is that you’d never know it’s a country club. It feels more like a private estate. You don’t see the golf courses at all from the ceremony or reception spaces. The brick facade, architecture, and pristine gardens give you the sense of getting married in a secret garden beside a castle.
There are indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions. Indoor ceremonies take place in an elegant wood-paneled room. Amanda and Kyle held their ceremony outdoors in front of the clubhouse. The lush landscaping and historic building maximized that “enchanted garden” feeling.
For receptions, the Greenville Country Club has a tented patio. It can accommodate up to 200 guests, so you can bring all of your favorite people along for the party. There’s plenty of room for dinner and dancing.
A Greenville Country Club wedding feels like it’s at a private residence because it originally served as Eugene du Pont’s 220-acre estate. The Tudor Revival house was completed in 1915. Du Pont’s architects and landscapers constructed many features that remain in the gardens, including the walls, roads, and gates. The property didn’t become a country club until the 1960s.
For marriers coming from Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware, the Greenville Country Club is an easy drive. It’s located in Wilmington, just under an hour south of Philadelphia. You can stay in one of the beautiful hotels nearby and make a whole weekend out of your wedding experience.
A Greenville Country Club wedding means stunning portraits in the garden. I could wander the grounds for ages and not run out of inspiration for photos. Photographing Amanda and Kyle here was such a joy. You could see them getting swept up in the romance of it all.
Before the wedding, Amanda and Kyle told me, “We are embracing a fall fairytale and fun. The ceremony is important to us, but the day is [also] about celebrating our love with those we care deeply about and having a great time.”
Amanda and Kyle definitely achieved that with their Greenville Country Club wedding. After their first look, they exchanged private vows. All of us who were lucky enough to witness it got a little misty eyed.
During golden hour, I whisked Amanda and Kyle away for some romantic garden portraits. The sun shined through flower petals and wrapped Amanda and Kyle in a warm glow. It was the kind of evening you always hope for heading into a wedding reception.
Amanda and Kyle brought the fun too! Some deeply personal, joyful details included:
Amanda and Kyle’s Greenville Country Club wedding had the best fall weather they could have hoped for. The sunshine and the fall color truly could not have been better. A lot of the leaves were turning orange and gold. Blanket flowers and other wildflowers still bloomed in the gardens.
Amanda and Kyle made the most of the fall color and went for bold florals. Orange, gold, and pink mixed to mixed in the bouquets and table decor. Leading up to the wedding, Amanda and Kyle told me that they absolutely love fall activities like apple picking. It made sense that they wanted to carry the season into their decor.
Personally, I love a fall wedding that embraces color! Every couple I work with finds a way to make the season their own. If you’d like more fall wedding inspiration, check out this alt wedding at Good Earth Market and this vibrant wedding at the Estate at Eagle Lake.
