The Farm on Main is the perfect New Jersey wedding venue for people who want something different from the usual ballroom or beach resort. It’s the perfect mix of casual and elegant. Kayla and Todd’s beautiful October wedding made the most of this venue’s lush scenery. 

The Farm on Main: An Elegant New Jersey Wedding Venue

The Farm on Main is a relatively new wedding venue. Kayla found it by chance on Google Maps when she was looking for different venues. Before they found it, they’d struggled to find a New Jersey wedding venue that felt really “them.” They all felt “ a little too old or a little too ballroom-y (not our vibe).” When they toured The Farm on Main, “We were instantly at ease.”

Kayla and Todd had to use a bit of imagination on the tour because the venue’s reception space hadn’t been built yet. Despite that, the existing buildings and vision boards for the planned space won them over. “We knew that this was the space for us,” Kayla said. “It’s casual, yet still super elegant, which is exactly what we wanted.”

Their trust in the vision paid off! The Farm on Main is everything Kayla described. The 20-acre venue balances a working farm with a private getaway unlike anything else in the area. It’s just 12 minutes from Long Beach Island. Being at this venue feels like being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by rolling meadows and trees.

When its current owners remodeled The Farm on Main, they were very intentional about designing ceremony and reception spaces. You can have your ceremony at The Pond, The Greenhouse, or the Wedding Lawn. Most receptions take place in the Forsythe Barn. This indoor/outdoor space has capacity for up to 250 guests. Shady, scenic walkways connect the spaces seamlessly.

The Farm on Main comes with a lot of conveniences, including an in-house florist and caterer. There are two getting-ready areas available in the farmhouse and loft. It would be easy to have all of your day’s activities on the premises. That’s always a positive! 

Colorful Fall Wedding Details

Kayla and Todd held their fall wedding in early October. The greenery around the wedding venue still looked really lush. I loved exploring the grounds with them to take portraits before and after their ceremony. The pond made the perfect backdrop for their first look. 

Since it was fall, Kayla and Todd leaned into warm, bold colors for their wedding details. The Farm on Main looked gorgeous dressed up in orange, maroon, and pink flowers. Their arch was a work of art. 

Kayla’s bridesmaids wore burnt orange dresses, weaving in more fall color. They looked so vibrant standing under the blazing blue sky at the ceremony. The weather really could not have been better, especially for that time of year.

Kayla and Todd’s Sweet Reception

I loved getting to know Kayla and Todd before their wedding at The Farm on Main. They’re a fun-loving couple. Given how much they love craft beer and they’re dogs, they’re very much my kind of couple.

Before the wedding, Kayla told me, “We just want to have fun. We want our people there to help us celebrate and create an environment where there is a little bit for everyone. We’re very low key people overall. We’re just throwing a party for everyone.”

When I arrived at Kayla and Todd’s wedding, I saw what they meant about being low key. But their day felt like more than “just throwing a party” in the sense that their community was over the moon for them. People poured love on them all day long. I felt so lucky to get to document it all!
